Ok, goodies! I ran out of my prescription pills since the Dr. wanted to try them on me for a week, the next day my nose was stuffy once again... D@#*#$@#!!!! I really did get used to having a good night rest and being able to breathe like a NORMAL HUMAN BEING.
So... I went to CVS Pharmacy and noticed that the 12 Hour Claritin was a behind the counter medicine.
I went to the pharmacy and bought it, well, tried buying it!
Clerk: Could I have an ID?
Me: (wtf?) Uhm, sure!
Clerk: Full name
Me: Noelia Pereira... (can't he see my ID?)
Clerk: Address
Me: (oh my... look at my ID) 8**** ** ***** ****
Clerk: Date of birth
Me: (you're dumber than you look... and you still have my ID in front of you) **/**/19**
Clerk: Phone number
Me: (***)***-****
-He gives me back my ID-
Clerk: Cash or credit?
Me: Credit...
-I give him my credit card-
Clerk: Could I see some ID
Me: ........................... ...... Here.....
Apparently you can't buy a lot of behind the counter Claritin. After I took the first dose, I began to see...............Let me rephrase...... I began to FEEL why it's being controlled.
Let me say that not only I felt drowsy, it was more like a inebriated state, do I need to say I passed on beers with my friends and went straight to bed?
On Friday I was so tired (long week) I got home from work at 6 and fell straight to bed, waking up at 8:30 and rushing to take a shower and *TRY* to make it to youth group!
Well, needless to say that never happened while I was on prescription allergy medication. Although given the price difference (Claritin $15 for 10 days/Allegra $39 for 10 days) you will expect a better medicine.
Aaanyways, enough said.. Now I need to find a part-time job to make ends meet and afford my $210 a month medicine!!
Anyone feeling like giving away money for the heck of it?? LET ME KNOW!!!

Happy Pills
As you know, I embarked on an allergy medication voyage with no land visible from where I'm standing right now.
Last night was the first night I actually slept throughout the whole night and actually woke up refreshed! It had been a really long, long time since I was able to rest. I had forgotten what it was to go to bed at 1am, wake up at 7:30am and feel great!
I'll keep on taking both medications and I'll keep posting and letting you know how it's going!

First off!
Well, I went to the Dr. today. As it turns out, my last Dr. appointment was on January 13, 1997.
The reason I went?.... Stupidity.
I'm hispanic, not Mexican. I was raised in a culture in which the foods I ate were mostly Italian and Spaniard, no spicy foods, no mystery meat, no beans, no rice.
So stupid me when I went to eat at a Mexican restaurant... No offense to Mexican food, I'm just not used to foods outside my cultural range and I know better than to mess with them.
I had a "light burrito" which consisted of chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, bean paste and a wheat tortilla, I thought it was harmless. I thought wrong.
For the next week and a half I was unable to eat anything or drink anything; anytime I ate my stomach felt as if I had swallowed a handful of needles. Needless to say, by last week I was completely freaking out; grabbed a phone and called a Dr. for an appointment.
As I went to the Dr. I was truly concentrating on the fact that I do not have medical insurance and how expensive it was going to turn out; so I figured I should just tell him EVERYTHING that is wrong with me and get it over with.
Told him about my stuffy nose that won't go away (10 months) and many other things. He started to check all the glands in my neck, my abdomen and I don't know why he kept asking about my thyroid glands, that kinda freaked me out.
About 20 min later I was getting blood work done and pissing in a cup for more tests; which they informed me I would get the results on the 22nd.
I got some pills and a spray for my stuffy nose, and no answer to my abdominal pain!
The good thing is that I took the pills and for the first time in a long time, my nose is clear!
